Prizm feels passionate about involvement in the regional community and believe strongly that supporting our youth in their decision making process for further education, would make a positive difference and benefit all. For this reason, we participate in the EQIP Gladstone and local high schools Work Experience program.
The program provides Year 9 to 12 students with opportunities to learn about local business and industry through work experience placements. Prizm participated in the education and career development of young people in our community by hosting 2 Seniors from a local high school in 2021, and again 3 students in 2022 and we will be participating again in 2023.

Traineeships:
In our experience, often, job seekers face many barriers to employment, such as age discrimination or a lack of qualifications or education. By offering traineeships we enable these candidates to not only take on gainful employment but also receive the key skills they need for future employment. Early in 2022, Prizm offered a student development traineeship to a candidate focused on Civil Design.
Gladstone held their annual Careers Expo on Tuesday 17th May. More than 1000 students from 13 different schools around the region travelled in to speak to representatives from 53 different business and industries – Prizm Engineering being one of them.
Students were able to read about the exhibitors in EQIP’s Careers Expo booklet and visit on the day, to find out more about the potential career and study pathways available to them upon leaving school.
Guest speakers in the lecture theatre included representatives from CQUniversity discussing various study pathways, and the Department of Small Business and Training who spoke about funded training options available after high school.
